| Is there a way to add a scrolling announcement bar somewhere on the screen? Could it be possible to consider this as an improvement?

| You can already do that. Click on the Alert toolbar button in display mode and choose preferences. Set it for scrolling and choose the parameters you want. Then enter the text in the alert dialog - it will take up to 255 characters. This gives you a horizontally scrolling text line.
You can get vertically scrolling notices using the slide show presentation, see the help file or manual for details.
