Is it possible to import from a PDF? I didn't see an option in the import type drop down this is just a wish list thing but would be nice. Thanks for your great gift.

No sorry there is no generic pdf importer as the possibilities for layout variation is so great as to make this very difficult. I have done pdf importers for very specific formats where there is consistency.
