Ben van Otterloo | Songview on windows 10 |
---|
Hello Mr. Bowser,
I have been working with songview in our church since 2010, with great pleasure.
All those years I used the program on my windows 7 laptop.
Recently, I have a laptop with windows 10 and installed a songview on it.
If I choose a song number, it will take 5 seconds to see it.
What could be the problem.
Information from my system:
windows 10 home
version 1703
intel core i3 5005cpu
2 Ghz 6 Gb RAM memory
64 bit operating system x64 processor
Thanks for your comment,
Regards

For now you can get round this problem by going into Advanced System Settings and disabling 'Smooth edges of screen fonts'.
Hopefully the next Songview update will solve the problem. |

Thanks for your post. The problem you are experiencing with slow text rendering is caused by a bug in Windows 10 Creators Update. It slows down text rendering by a factor of 40 or so.
You will notice it if you use text outlining or shadowing as this requires multiple text output to get the effect.
If you turn off text outlining and just use shadowing you will get a satisfactory performance.
I am hoping Microsoft will fix the problem otherwise I am going to have to find a workaround.

The new version 4.512 works much better with Creators Update |
