| After the latest Windows updates this week all the computers we are using Songview on have multiple problems with all displays of slides or screens to be displayed. I have now set all the units to run Songview in compatibility mode for Windows 7. This seems to work just fine. I am not a programmer but the latest updates for Windows 10 contain security fixes which means the use and control of all memory is changing in the environment. This mode can be set during or after install at any time. |

| I have not needed to use Songview since the start of lockdown in March 2020 and it was so good to be back on Sunday in September 2021. Except for this weird display issue. In Show mode the display was only in the top left corner.
I discovered that one song was full screen though...because it's background was a video. So I changed the other songs in the playlist to videos and so got around the issue.
During this long absence we have changed venue, and consequently changed equipment - from a VGA connection to a projector, now using HDMI via a splitter to 3 HD wide screen TVs.
However, when I got home, I connected my own TV with HDMI and had the same problem - full screen with a video background but quarter screen with a picture background. |

| Incidentally, when I opened Songview at home after the church event, all of the slide thumbnails were completely black. Initially this was very worrying as I thought the database was corrupted. However, looking for something else in Preferences I noticed that under Display it was set for Wide Screen. I had done this when trying to resolve the problem described previously. I changed the setting back to Monitor. All of the words and backgrounds were immediately restored! |

| I'm delighted to report that the display issue is now resolved since updating Songview to version 5.
I wish I had known earlier that this version had been released - it would have avoided the pre-service panic concerning the display.
But I'm now looking forward to using this new version next time! |
