Thanks for the program. It´s fantastic! I need some support ´cos when editing to paste lyrics the program crashes and shut down. Additionally, it shuffled all the lyrics mixing verses from one song to another. Can you tell me what to do? Thanks a lot. The Lord bless you.

I love this program! It's the best and cheapest way of projecting lyrics. But, even in version 3.25, it will still shut down the moment it encounters a small problem. Also I have OCD and noticed that in the keyboard shortcuts you typed 'CRTL' instead of 'CTRL' :) Thankyou so much and God bless.

This looked really good until I tried to actually use it for a presentation. The file routines seem to be very flaky. I tried saving songlists and playlists and, sometimes it worked but then when I tried loading them again, the program didn't recognize the format. Bizarre! When editing text, as well, buttons like the italic feature, didn't work as expected and had to be pressed several times to get a result. I also found that it crashed on me several times. It's the first program to do that on my Vista laptop since I bought it! The program looks very nice and has lots of good features but, unfortunately, it's just not sufficiently reliable to use in church.

I am the tech/projectionist for our church. I use a Toshiba laptop computer with and intel core duo processor at 1.2 gighz, 2 meg ram, 140 gig hd, and os is Windows Vista Home Premium service pak 2. I recently downloaded version 4.313 to upgrade from 4.18. I downloaded and ran the saved file. Everything went smoothly, the computer was restarted and that went ok. I started the Songview from my desktop. The program opened ok. I loaded the file that I was told to.(Songview had modified my song db so it would be compatible with the 4.313 version). Next I started the edit mode to enter new songs. I clicked the 'song' button to enter a new song. I entered the song title, and the composer's name and the first verse. So far so good: the text in the view pane on the left was the same as that in the edit pane. Next I clicked the 'new slide' button. The new slide was created but in the pane on the left the first half of the verse was moved to the bottom and the bottom half was shifted to the top with the first line starting at the mid point. In the edit pane, as I typed letters for the second verse the letters I saw in the edit pane were the ones that I had typed but the words that appeared in the view pane were totally different. In each key that I typed a different letter appeared. I have since removed the 4.313 from my computer using the sonview uninstall. I have reloaded 4.18 and everything is ok.

hi, thanks so much for the new update 4.313. I have recently upgraded to version 4.313 from 4.18. Everything went well accept for one major issue. I was able to load the song DB file taken from 4.18 into 4.313 and view the titles however i am not able to insert/append slides on the left window by right clicking on the mouse. The program crashes each time i tried to insert/append slides. One thing I notice is that if i click on the "Song" button on the top right window to add new slides, i don't encounter the crashing issue.

 JamesRe: Edit problems
First thank you so much for the software. We have been using Songview since before v.4. In the early stages there were more bugs relating to the database. I think if you did undo and the undo undid something in a song you had been working with previously it could introduce corruption. Anyway I think there was a problem with the database and when I corrected a song on Sunday it corrupted the whole of the database after about song 26. Is it possible to edit the database directly with a text editor to fix the problem? I have tried to use a text editor with UTF 8 but it cannot read the encoding at the start and end of the database. I don't really want to use a backup as the backup will have the same data corruption in it. If possible I don't really want to have to re-enter hundreds of songs. I have tried exporting to text, editing and re-importing but the font formatting seems to get lost after the first verse. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

The previous operator at my church made a post here; it sounds like he inserted a slide break with the cursor in the middle of a slide. Did this behaviour change between 4.18 and 4.313? I am fine with this behaviour (btw, using 4.317.) I'm not sure if is an "Edit problem", but I have experienced style drift, as described in a large Glitch Report elsewhere.
