Thanks for the sharing us this program to all. I hope you can develop the program further by allowing addition of videos with text overlay and audios. Looking forward to it's future update. Many thanks JCCM - Jesus Christ Christian Ministry

I also like using video backgounds on occasion so I add my vote for this, especially if it would allow flash video. You are truly using God's gift!

Hi Bro Roger, i was very expected to see that your pre-release V4.4 supports video backgroud. However when i tried it, the video background doesn't seems to work. When i show display, i can only see the song lyrics with a blank blackground and hear the music from the video but couldn't see any video.

Songview installs filters for most video types but they may not all work with some configurations. In this case it is worth trying a different video file format. You also need to have 32 bit graphics capabilities to use video backgrounds for song words.

I do not understand how to show videos in the background in the 4.5. Also could a later PowerPoint Viewer such as 2007 be used instead of the 1998-2003? Many of the newer power point presentations have functions incapable in the earlier viewers? Also when importing songs from Power Point there are problems with individual slides when they were assembled in later versions as well.

Sorry to hear you are having problems with Songview. To answer your queries: There are two methods for showing video backgrounds - for moving backgrounds (continuous loops) do it in the same way as you show still backgrounds. Click on the setup button so that the background pictures show on the right side, select video backgrounds and click on the required background. This will show a still preview as the slide background. When you show the slides on the projector they will have a moving background. You need 32 bit graphics for it to work. To show other backgrounds load the song file, then click the video tab on the left and load the required video file/ clip/ dvd or camera source. Check the use as background checkbox and the Show to get it on the projector. Powerpoint. You can use whatever Powerpoint viewer you want - I have supplied the 1997 and 2003 viewers but it works with the latest version 10 viewer obtainable from Microsoft. If it is installed you will have the option of using it for preview and or display on the Powerpoint tab. The Powerpoint import facility was designed to import text from standard Powerpoint text boxes where Powerpoint had been used for collections of songs (generally before song display software became readily available.). If you can send me a file where you are having problems I will look at it.

In our last conversation about using video's in the background you stated how to select the video file. This time I need to know what video formats are recognized by SongView?

If you go into the help file - Information/ Help and then go to the multimedia help page you should find all you need. There is also information on the Backgrounds help page. The supported formats are mpg, asf, mkv, m2ts, flv, wmv, mov, avi, mp4 and gif. These should all work with most configurations. The supplied video clips are in asf format.

If you have made any changes to the supplird sample song file, save it with a new filename. Then just do a reinstalltion; you can use the update installation file.
